Server Management:
o Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related
hardware.
o Manage server roles and features, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and
File Services.
o Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Active Directory Administration:
o Design, implement, and manage Active Directory infrastructure, including forests,
domains, and organizational units (OUs).
o Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions using AD.
o Implement and manage Group Policies to ensure a secure and efficient
environment.
o Perform regular AD health checks and maintenance tasks. - Domain Controllers and DNS:
o Install, configure, and manage Domain Controllers (DC) to ensure authentication
and authorization services.
o Implement and manage DNS services, including zone management, record
creation, and troubleshooting.
o Ensure the availability and reliability of DNS services for internal and external
resolution. - Security and Compliance:
o Implement and enforce server and network security policies and procedures.
o Monitor and manage security updates and patches for Windows Servers.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to server and
data security. - Troubleshooting and Support:
o Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues.
o Resolve server and network problems, ensuring minimal downtime.
o Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex issues and implement
solutions. - Backup and Recovery:
o Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows
Servers and Active Directory.
o Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and recovery
testing. - Documentation and Reporting:
o Create and maintain server and network documentation, including configurations,
procedures, and policies.
o Prepare and maintain reports on server performance, capacity, and incidents. - Automation and Scripting:
o Develop and maintain scripts for server automation tasks, such as backups,
monitoring, and maintenance.
o Implement and manage automation tools and solutions to improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field (or equivalent work experience). - Experience:
o Proven experience as a Windows Server Administrator or similar role.
o Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Domain
Controllers, and DNS services. - Skills:
o Strong understanding of server and network concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS,
DHCP, and VPN.
o Proficiency in server configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
o Experience with Group Policy management and implementation.
o Knowledge of security practices and technologies for server and network
environments.
o Familiarity with server monitoring and management tools.
o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Certifications:
o Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA
Server+, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
